Employment Opportunity: Social Media Specialist (7 weeks)
The Coalition of Persons with Disabilities NL invites qualified post-secondary students to apply for the following job opportunity through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
This position is being advertised under the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) initiative. To be eligible for this position, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age on the start date of the job. You also must have been a full-time student during the previous academic year and be intending to return to full-time studies in the next academic year. You also must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. You must also be legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations.

Job Details
- Location: 460 Torbay Road, St. John’s, NL
- Salary: $10.75 hourly for 35 hours per week for 7 weeks ( 245 hours inclusive)
- Terms of employment: The position will be available between June-August 2017
- Intended start date is June 19th 2017
- Hours of work: 8:30am-4:30pm with Flexible Hours
Job Requirements:
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high school) graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
Working knowledge of MS Word; MS Outlook; Social media platforms. Knowledge of new media audio and visual formats to record videos and other media formats.
Work Setting:
Non-profit charity, focused on increasing the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador
Specific Skills:
The Social Media Specialist will work collaboratively with the Research and Communications Coordinator to develop and facilitate a social media awareness campaign to work towards the advancement of persons with disabilities in this province. The Social Media Specialist will provide support to the Research and Communications Coordinator in developing and implementing communications strategies and programs, and will help prepare promotional materials for different events, sessions and educational opportunities The Coalition is working towards.
